Apologies if covered - I can't see anything obvious...

1) Is it possible?
2) ...er how? The exported .ts looks too small and presumably encrypted

The intention of Humax was that it would not be possible but there are a couple of methods. The well known method is to transfer the .hmt file to a PC and use a piece of software called Foxy to modify it (to make it appear as an SD recording to the Humax and hence eligible for decryption); transfer the modified .hmt file back to the Humax and then copy to USB storage.
