External USB drives not showing correctly (the other way around)

I'm suffering the reverse of a problem described elsewhere: my external USB drives can be written to from the HDR and can be browsed via the box's web interface, but I can't access the drives' content with the remote by selecting Storage via the blue button (instead I'm immediately returned to a view of the HD video content). Comments appreciated.
