Grouping vs sorting on Humax 4000

Grouping vs sorting on Humax 4000

TiVo recordings can by grouped by folder or left add individual recordings
Then can be sorted by date time or alphabet

Humax don't seem to understand there is a difference between grouping and sorting

Recordings can be 'grouped' by "programme" but what order are they sorted by?

Not alphabetically
Not by day/time

It seems quite random
I've only just started and its looking messy now so by the time I'm 3/4 full it will be hecletic

Anyone know how they are sorted?

I would be interested to see what the screen looks like with "Storage" selected. What options are available under "Edit"?

Screen looks the same with storage selected and only options under edit are delete move etc
No sort
My manual has about 5 pages in it

No they can be"grouped" by programme, channel, yadda
Grouping is not sorting (try it on your Windows desktop)
But I'm not just playing semantics

I'm used to finding recordings in some orderly fashion
"Grouping" seems to be totally unsorted (totally random order) on 4000 (see my photo) but I guess I'll just get used to it

I'm pleasantly surprised to find they're is an order
When grouped as programme they are sorted by most recent recording
Which is my preference
