HDR-FOX T2 fails to spin up internal HDD

I spoke too soon when I posted yesterday, I have a unit purchased 3 years ago as my backup sold as GRADED refurb - unit returned to Humax and repaired. I wonder if it was not actually repaired as the fault is not consistent.
Sometimes, it fails to spin up the HDD on cold start or restart. Sometimes it will spin up, can't characterize what causes it to do either. I know it has not spun up because I don't hear it and Telnet to CF tells me disk not mounted.
I tried 2 known good disks with the same effect.
Anyone else seen this issue?
Maybe a visit to eBay for another backup unit...

If the fault persists despite replacing the disk, the runes are not good.

Possibly fit a 2 1/2 drive for less power requirements?
But still a bit ominous.

Try reseating the drive cables at the motherboard end
(never opened box myself)

Thanks for the feedback - confirms my suspicions. On the positive side, I guess I have a spare power supply, case, fan etc
