HDR fox T2 freezes

I have a HDR fox T2 running custom firmware 2.19. Today, the box has being acting weird. At random points today, it has froze, picture goes black, remote unresponsive and pushing the standby button on the front has no effect. In the past 5 mins I've switched off the box at the back, and in under 3 mins of viewing, the box has froze again. I've managed to run a general diagnostic scan which everything passed. Can anyone offer any assistance?

Kind regards

David

Have you added anything on your network that run a DNLA server e.g. Twonky? This is known to cause freeze / re-boot
I've not added anything new, I do run the network shares automount but I've had that working for months now. It's now freezing after 30 secs when swithed off at the back.

Can the dlna server be switched off?

I would definitely turn off Content Sharing temporarily to see if something on your network is the problem, however turning it off permanently will stop the Humax performing as a DLNA sever and will also stop most of the decryption options in the Custom Firmware from working, See the DLNA Box HERE

Its hard to say with the limited information available - but if I was you I would...

1) Check for HDD errors using the webif diagnostics tab.

2) Factory reset.

3) Re-install official firmware.

4) Re-install custom firmware.

Just got home to try the box out and its hanging after 20 secs, requiring a switch off at the back. I think i'll remove the custom firmware and reload everything on to see if that works.

The value is similar on a per power_on_hours basis to our box with a brand new drive and according to http://kb.acronis.com/content/9124 it isn't one of the more important parameters. What problems would you envisage from the reported value?
Just something to keep an eye on. I had quite a few of these (along with other bad things) on the last laptop drive I had that needed replacing under warranty.
