help installing custom firmware and copy recorded tv to pc

Hi i have a HD-Fox T2 and a HDR-Fox T2 and im trying to work out this simplest way of installing the special firmware and saving my recordings to my pc. Can someone please give me a simple walkthrough? I have a 8gb usb stick and a 1tb external hard drive to use and i would much prefer not to have to learn tellnet if at all possible. I understand the hd t2 can use the hdr firmware and trick it into thinking its a hdr but i just need a little help. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks

Have you looked at the installation instructions in Quick Guide to Custom Firmware (click) post 2? It's about as explicit as I can make it.
