Help - with error code

After running the custom firmware for a few years, it was about time I updated it.

It downloaded to 95% then came up with an error E-HC (Incorrect Header Block). I thought I just needed to try again. Now it only downloads to 0% and says error E-OS (Incorrect Operating System Retry after a Set to Factory Default).

How do I do factory reset as I can't get on to the humax, it is stuck! I have turned it off for a minute or two, removed the USB and nothing.

Can anyone give me any ideas what to do next?
 
After an afternoon of pulling my hair out, I tried a different USB and all worked OK.
 
That's quite a common problem. Some USB sticks just don't seem to work for some reason or another. The suggestion is to try a different stick, but you have found that yourself after loosing quite a lot of hair by the sounds of it. Are you all fixed up now? (Only just seen your post).
 
Hope it didn't interfere with HWMBO's viewing too much. Can be near fatal you know.
