Humax 1100s and Lg sound bar

Wondering if anyone can help me.

I have a humax 1100s recorder connected to my LG TV via hdmi cable.

I have an LG sound bar connected to my LG tv via optical connection.


I've linked the humax remote to my tv but the volume control button on tv and stb mode wont adjust the soundbar volume.

Anyone had this issue before?

I've an LG TV (no sound bar) linked to an HDR-T2 Humax box.
There's no difficulty about using channel selection, volume controls, on/off switch - so much so that I'v ceased to switch between as it confuses my wife.
Does the TV remote usually control sound-bar voume, and what means does it use.
I know, from exercises with my brother-in-law's LG TV that some of the controls can be IR or bluetoorh
 
Using the Humax remote control. Press the home button. scroll to settings. Find the audio output option, select the hdmi out option. change the hdmi audio out to stereo. Your TV and sound bar cannot decode Dolby Digital audio as used on the HD channels,

After this, Turn down the volume of the TV using it;s own remote. Use the Humax remote to turn up the volume to near max. Tune to a SD channel and then use the TV remote to set a reasonable listening level. Tune to HD channel and check the volume is similar.

Then use the TV remote to control the volume not the Humax one,
