Humax HDR-2000T 500GB - audio issues

Dear clever people of Hummy,

My old (2016) humax 2000 hdr has been going well for 8 years, but is now losing about half a sec of audio every minute or two (both live and when playing recordings).

I'm going to try another hdmi cable, but wondered if this was a known issue (with a fix). And if it's not, is there an alternative product which would work well for my old mum who will not use internet and is used to the humax UI.

Periodic interruptions sounds like a HDMI thing where the content protection (HDCP) keeps cutting in. This is typical if the unit is feeding HDMI and SCART/RGB at the same time. If you are sure there is only a HDMI connection, I suppose a poor connection might be the cause – but try disconnecting and reconnecting before you try another cable!
