Humax HDR, HD and Mpeg4

I have a Humax HDR-Fox T2, and a television with Mpeg 4. Normally I will watch my television with the signal coming in via the Humax.

However, living in Northern Ireland I am capable of receiving FTA broadcasts from the Republic of Ireland and they use Mpeg 4 for their HD services so I was wondering if I watch RTE2 with the signal coming in via the Humax will I receive the HD picture.

To be honest with a 32 inch tv I probably wouldn't notice that much anyway I'm asking more out of curiosity. :)
 
I don't see why not - just tune the RTE2 service as "DVB-T" instead of "DVB-T2". I can't be held accountable for whatever state your EPG data ends up in though.
