Hummy regularly rebooting to installation

I've been having problems for some time now regarding my Hummy losing all settings and starting with Installation Setup. I've checked the disk drive and all appears OK. The last few resets haven't registered as crashes and therefore aren't listed in the crashlog. The last recorded is as follows:

Core was generated by `/usr/bin/humaxtv'.
Program terminated with signal 10, Bus error.

I also noted a number of crashes previously caused by "segmentation fault".

Can anyone point to the cause or is my Hummy giving up the ghost at long last?

Very broadly yes, but specifically no, seeing as we have no idea what the Humax software is doing. Something crashed for some reason is as much as I know, which isn't very helpful I admit. It you had some idea what you were doing as the time it may point a finger, but there's nothing much that can be done even then.
DLNA stuff on the network is known to cause odd crashing issues, but there's a package you can install to firewall that away.
You may really have a hardware fault, possibly memory related, but who knows. What's been suggested is probably as much as can reasonably be done.

Many thanks again for your insights. I do suspect that the hardware may be giving up the ghost given its age which I can't really complain about. I am aware of the DLNA issue but got the package to resolve that years ago. The strange thing is that I wasn't doing anything bar just switching on from standby. On other occasions I only discovered that it had gone into installation mode was when I was unable to view Freeview through the TV (no signal). Not to worry, I'll work through a thorough reset after copying files and retain as a backup if necessary.
