Installing new package or updating them results in connection refused

I think I've had this issue for a year now... I visited web-if again today (not visited for 3 months or so) and updated a bunch of new packages including the new web-if 1.4. After refreshing the web interface it resulted in a connection refused:

Code:
This site can’t be reached

192.168.1.13 refused to connect.
Try:
Checking the connection
Checking the proxy and the firewall
ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED

I connected via telnet to reboot, at least it's accepting that connection.

I also removed a few redundant packages such as power-on channels, channel del and channel reordering - which went fine. But after installing boot-settings package the web interface went dead again, so I rebooted from telnet and needed to repeat the same process again for installing the tunefix package.

Any ideas why this is happening?

Yes, you're falling victim to a bug in an old package update.
Do a full upgrade from the telnet menu (upgrade option) and it should be fine after that.
