Intermittent Freezing

Hi all,

I’ve been running into an annoying issue with my FVP-4000T recently.

Live TV works perfectly fine, but when I watch recorded programs, the playback sometimes freezes for a few seconds or skips ahead. It doesn’t happen constantly, but often enough to be frustrating—especially during longer recordings.

So far, I’ve tried restarting the box, swapping out the HDMI cable, and checking the signal strength (which looks solid). The problem still persists. I’m starting to wonder if it might be the hard drive acting up or something else inside the box. Has anyone experienced something similar?

Would love to hear any tips or suggestions, especially if you’ve managed to fix this kind of problem.

Thanks in advance!

Freezing on playback implicates the HDD. You've not said anything about trying a disk format.

I've tried [mention any troubleshooting steps you've already taken restarting the recorder, checking the aerial connection. However, the problem persists.
What is this? Does this garbled text suggest the OP is using a script or some kind of AI??

Could be copy and paste.

I've been experiencing intermittent freezing during playback on my FVP-4000T.
Are these recordings from one channel or multiple channels? Is this recent, or do older recordings freeze when they didn't previously? What happens when you watch the channel(s) live through the 4000T (ie. Not using your TV's tuner)?

When you say that you have tried restarting the recorder, was that just using the button on the remote, or did you actually remove mains power from the PSU?

The latter sometimes sorts problems out.

Perhaps, but why, from where?
Don't know. Possibly another site.
(My experience with the other Humax site is that editing quotes in replies is a pita. Of course, I could be doing it wrong. This sort of error would be easy there - but not here).
