Resolved Issue with Two-step verification emails not arriving

I have been having an issue when trying to Log in to the forum using Two-step verification.

The email containing the passcode has not been arriving, so I have been having to resort to using Backup codes instead.

Has anybody else had this issue?

I suspect this is something that only @af123 will be able to resolve.

Never realised that it was an option!
As an ordinary user never felt the need for additional security on a forum

Have you not got a device that you can use an authenticator app. on instead?
Email is hardly great for security, and it's unreliable due to spam arms wars.

It is required by the forum software to access the Admin control panel.

I do have suitable devices, but have never needed to use such an app. The single use backup codes work okay, and are only needed every 30 days.

I never realised you could get them via email.
I took a look and I can see the messages going to you and being accepted by the servers that host that email address. Could they be ending up in the spam folder there?

I have just checked, and yes they are in my junk folder, the first one dates from last Saturday.

They never used to go in my junk folder, so I know where to look next time.

I don't use the email option. Many of the sites if frequent have 2FA so I use an authenticator app. Saving the backup codes to an encrypted drive on partition on my PC.

I've got 15 things on mine now.
Folk really need to do better. No wonder the phishers/vishers/scammers/crackers/guessers/whatevers do so well out of people.

Thanks for all of the comments.

I have now enabled Verification code via app, and have also found that this feature is already available on my devices, without having to install an authenticator app.
