Label Making

No; I have a 12mm Brother if there's anything I can answer based on that but not if it's a question specific to the wider models. They're handy things for sure.

I can do 12mm myself, but I have need of 18mm. I will supply the tape cartridges, postage etc, if somebody is willing to do the printing.

I don't have HP, but a NIIMBOT which has proved very useful and trouble free and takes a variety of sized labels, some quite large.

I recently acquired a PT-E550W which can print on a variety of tape widths, up to 24mm I think. How much printing are we talking?

About 1m worth on each of two colours. The worst part of the task is (usually) data entry, it seems weird that these units are keypad entry only and have no computer interface*, but in this case data entry will be fairly simple as the labeling will be multiple repeats of the same short text.

However, I may have found a local solution so hold fire for a few days.

* I see the PT-E550W does have a USB interface. Heat-shrink tubing printing too... nice!

Ok no worries, if that does not work out I should be able to assist. I already had a more basic P-Touch labeller and had no intention of buying another, till I watched THIS video 😂

I've an old basic P-Touch. I've only used the Brother tapes, so just the basic black on white offering. Has anyone used the third party tapes? What were the results compared to the original tape?
Also had anyone tried something like Dymo LetraTag 200B or Brother P-touch Cube Label Printer with Bluetooth? They're basic consumer label printers that requires a smart phone to set up the formatting etc.

I've not had any issues using 3rd party tapes in my old P-Touch printer, in fact I've only ever used 3rd party tapes in it.
