Mod: Auto Update

Black Hole

Couldn't find another open topic.

I decided to use some time this afternoon for system maintenance, and updated my HD-FOX to 1.14 (HDR-FOX to follow). I then tried to install auto update and got this:

Code:
>>> opkg install auto-update
Installing auto-update (1.0.0) to root...

Installing anacron (2.3-1) to root...

Installing cron-daemon (1.18.3-1) to root...

Anything to worry about?

Yes, that doesn't look good. Could the USB disk be set to read-only?
I'd try re-running the command after a reboot.

No, though I suppose it's possible the stick is low on space. I will check.

Will do.

Update: my problems were down to the USB stick being FAT32 (naturally), while the custom software needs facilities that are not provided in a FAT file system. Formatting the stick as Ext2 (see this topic - click) solved the problems.

what time does the auto update check ?

will it shut down the humax if it needs to

im only saying because, i have the auto update, but when i checked if there was new updates the other day, there where some

It checks once a day, on the first boot of that day or at 2am if the Humax is left turned on.

It won't shut down the Humax for any reason...

i'll was only asking if it shut down because i never turn our's off, however some updates require power off, and the humax went into standby on its own according to the misses

It has its own idle stand-by timer, if you've not turned it off in the menus. The custom software might make it restart sometimes, but I don't think it can turn off.
