No sound

Have had a HDR fox t2 linked to a Sony Bravia for at least five years with no issue. Have just purchased a new Sony Bravia and with this one I do get a perfect picture thru the Hummy but no sound. I have tried rebooting, different cables, and all the options on the to but no luck. the tv is a Sony KE-48A9.
Any ideas that might help will be greatly appreciated.

On the HDR-FOX, check you don't have the volume at 0 (or muted), and have Menu >> Settings >> Preferences >> Audio >> Digital Audio Output = Stereo.

You need to be looking at the audio settings, and maybe the HDMI compatibility settings. If there is an option to force HDMI 1.x (rather than HDMI 2.x), use it. Also disable anything referring to ARC (I think Sony call that Veralink).

Beyond that, I would check the HDR-FOX still works with a different TV, and then consult a Sony Bravia forum.
