Not scheduling recordings

My HDR-Fox T2 hasn't recorded any scheduled recordings since last Saturday, and is not accepting requests for scheduled recordings from the Humax interface. I tried manually recording a couple of minutes of the current programme (by pressing the REC button on the remote), and that worked fine. When I opened the TV guide and scheduled a programme to record this afternoon it seemed to accept the request, but no red clock icon was added to the programme in the TV guide and it did not show up in the Schedule.
The Humax The TV diary shows nothing recorded on any day after Saturday (3 days ago). I've run the HDD diagnostic and it doesn't show any problems. Live buffer rewind and playback also work fine.
I'm running Custom firmware v3.13.
Any ideas?

Are items scheduled through the WebIF successful?

If a cold restart doesn't fix it, and a factory reset doesn't fix it, it starts to look as if the NVR is going dicky...

No - I schedule most stuff using the web IF and none of it is recording.
I tried doing an auto channel retune, and then ran all the diagnostics from the web IF. The only thing that looked suspicious was this, on Sunday morning:

I then rebooted the machine from the web interface. After the reboot I noticed that the EPG in the Wed IF was empty, and tracing back further it was because the Humax seemed to have forgotten my Favourite channels. I restored the Favourite channels manually (using the Humax remote/TV interface), and then noticed that all of my scheduled future recordings had disappeared from my schedule - they were there immediately before the reboot.
Anyway I restored my schedule from a previous backup, and have set something up to record in the next hour, using the web IF. The Humax TV interface also seems to be correctly marking scheduled recordings again, so fingers crossed.
Maybe the schedule database got corrupted, and running the diag/reboot resolved it (albeit at a cost of deleting my schedule)??
Pardon my ignorance but..."NVR"???

Non Volatile RAM - where things like the schedule are stored.

As far as I am concerned, the critical test is:

WebIF >> EPG >> Schedule something
WebIF >> Schedule >> Check it's there

Well it just passed that test - and has started recording the item that I scheduled earlier. Fingers crossed it's now resolved...
