Picture freezing while watching live TV

This problem is occurring more frequently of late (around 5 times a week now).

While watching live TV the picture will freeze, but sound continues. Pressing buttons on the remote has no effect nor does pressing the standby button on the front panel. The only option is to kill the power and reboot, after which things return to normal.

Is this a known issue? Is there a fix?

Things Every... (click) section 18:
CRASHED: The unit was "ON" but no longer responds to remote control commands or front panel controls. The front panel display is static (not scrolling). The TV picture is frozen although audio may continue. There is no Ethernet activity. The only way out of the crashed state is a "hard reset" - in the case of the HD-FOX there is a reset button under the flap on the front panel, but an HDR-FOX has no reset button and must be turned off at the mains (switch on the rear panel).

Crashes are typically associated with increased network activity or reduced network/Internet reliability, because (I believe) the Humax error trapping was never properly debugged.

If you are certain nothing has changed (not even your Internet error rate), see Steps for Resolving HDR-FOX Crash/Reboot Issues (click)

Many thanks @Black Hole. I will carry out diagnostics as suggested in your guide. I'll try disconnecting the ethernet cable first to ascertain whether it is a network issue.

I've run disk repair (took 90mins and seemed to fix hundreds of errors).
I've switched 'content share' off and reset the DLNA database. (I've left 'content share' off as I don't think I need it; though in the distant past I seem to recall that it might be needed for custom firmware capabilities). Should I switch it back on?

Or you could leave it off (staying aware that you have) and see if it affects any of the functionality you use.

I use ad detection, so will have to switch it back on at some point very soon. One of the main reasons for my purchase of this PVR !!

Thanks for the help everyone. Fingers crossed I've done enough to sort the freezing issue.

Do you really want the fix disk log (266,000 lines and 8MB)? It’s too large to upload

Here’s the last few lines...
