Reallocated_Sector_Ct increasing by about 200 every day

My hdd Reallocated_Sector_Ct is increasing by about 200 sectors each day. Last night the box hung in recording mode. Is it on it's way out?

If so, can anyone recommend a good hdd currently on offer? I haven't got much money to spend.

Yes that sounds like it is well on the way to being unusable.

Many favour the Seagate Pipeline 2TB. See also here:

Thanks. I found an unused toshiba drive kicking around and have installed that now. Surprised to see that my recording schedule remained on the device.

Why? The HD-FOX manages to keep a viewing schedule, and that doesn't have a hard drive at all.

Why why? Because without giving it too much thought and not knowing the HD-FOX it's not outside the realms of possibility that one might incorrectly assume that the schedule is located on the HDD as did vibes.
