Recordings very slow to start playing

The selected recording eventually starts to play after about 10 seconds and a couple of freezes. Also selecting Fast Forward takes a while to start and then is difficult to stop.
Web interface version: 1.4.4-1
Custom firmware version: 3.12 (build 3965)
Humax Version: 1.03.12 (kernel HDR_CFW_3.12)
Loader Version: a7.33

I think everything else is working OK The EPG is responsive, channel changing is fine. There is about 30 percent disk space free.
Any suggestions?

Should have been: Upgrade the CF and then run a disk check.

Post some disk stats. then. Psychic, we are not. Probably just filesystem corruption, but without any evidence it is just a guess.

No, Ill do it and re run the fix disk should I ?

No particular need; it's just that updating the CF before running fixdisk provides the best chance of repairing the file system. That doesn't mean an older version can't repair it.

I've updated the CF and as its working great at the moment will leave it be for the time being.
