I have the customised firmware installed and have been trying to connect it to my FreeNAS box to stream video from the box and to view photographs stored on it but have failed miserably.
Don't overlook that you need a real USB drive / stick plugged in, or at least be running the virtual-drive2 package, for the external mount to be recognised. You then access the mount via Media >> Storage (blue) >> USB (and don't forget to go back to Media >> Storage >> HDD for the internal recordings). To access photos you have to select Media >> Media >> Photos (but frankly, there are better ways to view photos).
