After encountering one glitch too many, I’ve switched from a Humax Aura to a Manhattan T4R. So far, everything seems good, but I’m finding the remote control functionality a bit frustrating.
With the Aura, I could pair the remote to control my Samsung TV, allowing me to keep the Aura inside a closed cabinet while still using all remote functions by pointing at the TV.
I followed the “Learning Remote” instructions to teach the T4R remote to control my TV. I successfully programmed three of the five buttons (TV power, volume up, and volume down), but I couldn’t get mute or TV/AV to work. More importantly, I can only control the T4R if the cabinet door is open and the remote is pointed directly at it.
I have HDMI-CEC (Anynet+) enabled on my Samsung TV.
Is there a workaround for this? Would a universal remote help, specifically one that can control the T4R via the TV so I can keep the T4R inside the cabinet?
