I want to thank you guys on this forum. I have an old Humax FOXSAT-HDR which has run ok for more than ten years. Some years ago it started playing up and a pal suggested replacing the electrolytics in the psu. This worked and gave it a new lease of life. But before Christmas (2025) the picture started freezing yet the sound carried on. After a few minutes it then rebooted. And after a few hours this was repeated over and over.
A new set of electrolytics didn't fix it so I searched the net and found this forum, "Try reformatting the hard drive" was suggested by this forum. I doubtingly did this and behold, it's run OK for 24 hours now. So thank you very much, you have done me a big favour.
