Hello,
For the last couple of weeks I've been getting the "The channel is scrambled or not available" message when watching something while another program is recording at the same time.
I've updated to the latest custom firmware in hope that this may resolve the problem but it hasn't.
I suspected a hard disk problem and after further investigation the SMART status of the drive is FAILED!
This is the offending attribute
5 Reallocated_Sector_Ct PO--CK 2765 033 033 036 Pre-fail Always FAILING_NOW
I've attempted to run fix-disk (with and without -x -c options) via telnet but this fails on the short disk test with the following
Checking disk sdb
Using superblock 0 on sdb3
Using superblock 0 on sdb1
Using superblock 0 on sdb2
Partition /dev/sdb1 is already unmounted
Partition /dev/sdb2 is already unmounted
Partition /dev/sdb3 is already unmounted
Running short disk self test
Error at LBA 0
Dev: /dev/sdb LBA: 0
Bad partition offset -1
The disk is a Seagate ST31000424CS
I've started copy everything off that I want to keep.
Do I need to replace the disk or is there something else I can try?
If I do need to replace the disk, can someone please recommended a suitable 1TB drive?
Thanks
P
