Unable to find a disk

I have been having problems with my HDR-FOX T2 which I suspected to be disk related (clicking sounds, unable to record or load saved programmes).

I have installed the customised firmware and run the "fixdisk" option however this returns the error "Unable to find a disk". Is this terminal or is there another way to recover the disk?

Code:
Please select option: fixdisk
Any additional options (-h for list or press return for none):
Are you sure you wish to run the hard disk checker? [Y/N] y
Running /bin/fix-disk
Unable to find a disk
fix-disk: session terminated with exit status 1

Clicking sounds terminal. For any hope of data recovery, turn it off, but you may not want that expense anyway.
