...which is displayed using the auto-generated BB Code (URL tags are added to any text which looks like a URL when "post reply" or "post thread" is clicked):
...but you will note that the unfurl preview is for the first post in the whole thread, not the post being referenced. It is therefore more appropriate to remove the unfurl switch for such links, but that means either editing the post after posting, or inserting URL tags manually:

Can this behaviour be fixed, or are we stuck with it?

Here's a scenario I've encountered recently when testing what the HDR Fox T2 will and will not play correctly. I have a TV show episode originally in a MKV container. It has 1080p level 4 H264 video and 640k E-AC3 audio. I can use ffmpeg to remux it to a TS or M2TS file and it'll play...
