What To Do with a Dead or Unwanted HDR-FOX, HD-FOX, or DTR-T1000/1010

I've not been able to resist buying HDRs when they've appeared up in local charity shops for £10-15 and the majority are the earlier twin-tuner version.
I never go in local charity shops, indeed I rarely go in shops at all these days apart from Sainsburys and M&S Simply Food. Perhaps I should start going in charity shops when I pass them, but the chances of there being an HDR Fox T2 in there on the rare occasions I'm passing seems low.

EDIT: I could do with some more remotes as well. My two are in excellent condition and all the buttons work. But my parents and my aunt's have half the rubber buttons semi destroyed due to my mum and my aunt pressing them with their finger nails. And one or two of the buttons on their remotes don't work very well, which is a common fault as I understand it when the remotes are kept in overly warm surroundings which is unavoidable at my aunt's sauna like retirement apartments.

The cheap look-alike remote I got from eBay works OK and I presume they'll all be like it. Caveats are they don't have programming for different devices, only do the default HDR device codes and the 'OK' key is a bit too recessed for my liking.
Is the listing you bought from still live and selling? Can you post a link here please if so?

Bought mine in May '23 and understandably the listing has gone but the same supplier has this listing.

From the pictures it's the same one but £2 cheaper than I paid so I may well get another.

Should add that after testing it was put away as a spare so I can't comment on longevity.

I hadn't realised how much is out there on ebay. Dozens of HDR Fox T2s for less than £50, dozens of remotes for less than £10. I don't think I need to buy anything, those supplies are not going to dry up overnight. There's way more stock out there than pretty much anything else I've bought on ebay.

That's not a genuine one
Hmm. The listing says "genuine" in one place and "compatible" in another. No doubt they will point out it says "genuine quality" (whatever that means) and not actually "genuine", if anyone were to complain. This looks like a cynical ploy – especially with the way the line happens to break on my screen.

With respect, this has drifted way off topic. There are existing threads for discussing replacement remote controls.

You're right, now I've compared the pictures to a real Humax one.
No Humax logo on the front, no 'feet' or recycle symbol on the back, and very slight size/position/typeface differences on the text (easiest to see on the MEDIA and GUIDE buttons).
