I have written about this myself in the past and it's still happening. I've not tried reset/retuning just to avoid potential loss of recordings. Might try that if it really gets annoying - it last happened two nights ago.....
I've found the Aura to be plagued with odd intermittent faults including the one that you describe. Rather than a power cycle, if (when) it happens again try pulling up the list of recordings which may display, play one for a few seconds and then stop playback and go back to live TV which works...
I'm glad to hear that it's not me and this is the first reference I've seen about this issue. I've tried various things with the Aura to no avail and I've now set a series record of Corrie HD on my FVP-5000T in the hope that this will be a backup but I see that there may also be issues with this...
just for info to all - Bizarely, over the Xmas weekend the system started to respond normally and all is well. After posting my last response, I hadn't checked again until I noticed the other half using the Aura as if it had been in place for years. I can't explain this behaviour apart from the...
More info from some research that I've done. My IR receiver in the lounge which directs the signals to the IR to IP box has a frequency range from 36khz to 40khz which is the norm for modern equipment. A wide band receiver is available which has a range of 20 to 120khz which would be needed for...
So it does seem that the remote was in BT mode and hiding the fact that the IR to IP adaptor seems to not accept the IR frequencies used by Aura. All other Humax devices that I have work okay so we're back to my original question - how does the Aura remote IR frequencies differ from other Humax...
I'll investigate this further but I believe I set the Aura up to use IR remote only because I was intending to use it with the programmable remote which is quite old and AFAIK only uses IR. However, on checking the indicator light on the original remote, when pressing the buttons, the indicator...
I should have emphasised in my first post that the original Aura remote DOES work over IP but not from the programmable remote (which does work with the equipment if used in the garage). Confusing eh?
I've had a few HDR Fox T2 and an FVP5000, all of which had remotes which work with my IR to IP arrangement to control equipment which is installed in a garage. However, the Aura will not work with this in the way I need to use it. I have a programmable remote and I use this for all equipment and...
I learn something new everyday and once again this site proves that it has magical powers because we only have to be speaking about it and it sorts it out all by itself............!!
I've had this unit a few days and it seems to be just about fast enough to cope with in comparison to my other HDR-Fox T2 units which play fine as DLNA devices through the new one - takes a while to start playing though!
I've searched the forums and not found any reference to this oddity which...
And I only saw the previous couple of posts after I sent mine. We all seem to agree on a probable cause....
The fact that you have 100% signal could mean that it also too strong for the tuner sensitivity which can cause cross modulation. Try fitting an attenuator working up from 6dB (followed...
Similar to mihaid earlier, I've just updated to 1.2.8-8 and then Hummy webif crashes after installing another package. Power cycle brings everything back and I can install one other package but webif crashes after installation of any subsequent package (dialogue box appears without text in...
Well it lasted a couple of days. I came home late last night to find the unit indicating off (amber ring) but the display showed a frozen "CF version" Message. There was no reason for the unit to switch on because there were no scheduled recordings. For a couple of nights it had switched on and...
Just resurrecting this thread as I've got some info to add to earlier posts. Rob Singlehurst and I seemed to agree that we had similar failures on machines that were of similar ages (purchased about two months apart) so we assumed that mobos were of similar age and appeared to have failed wihin...
I've just discussed the issue with an online retailer that looked as though they had stock. I was told that they don't expect delivery until October at the earliest and maybe not even this year!
I've been using an HDR-Fox T2 with custom firmware for over 3 years now and wouldn't be without it. Unfortunately I may now have to as the unit will now not power on. From checks that I have made it looks like the main board has failed. Short of looking on eBay for a used replacement recorder...
