      Custom firmware can save/restore the recording schedule. It may be able to do some of the rest, I've never investigated.

      Correct. I spend half my life writing firmware to handle error cases. Testing them is a pain in the neck as you have to inject errors.

      Often yes, using something like a CRC on the data. Ethernet works that way for example. But surely the EPG data is handled in firmware?

      Ignoring invalid data is standard procedure for network connected devices, we do it all the time at work.

      Why weren't those the versions you were recording anyway? Why would you knowingly record the SD versions in preference to HD?

      I tun two HDR Fox T2s. I record the same things on both boxes. One of them has AR enabled and the other uses padding.
