    Humax busy while "idle"

Diagnosing this is way above my pay grade but..... I have a strong suspicion that the fact that your disk is 90% full may have a quite a lot to do with the problem. Disks that are close to full can be erratic, flakey and slow. If it were mine I would want to copy or delete around 50 to 100GB of...

    Updating WiFi Drivers

When in the same room certainly, but I have found that in a modern house the wifi signal in a room adjacent the modem can be too strong for the range extender to work reliably.

    Updating WiFi Drivers

I have to agree. I've been using one of these since 2016 and won't be going back to a dongle. TL-WA860RE It improves wifi in the tv-room and has an ethernet output socket for the HDR. It drops out occasionally, maybe once or twice a month on average, but overall I have found it much better...

    M*A*S*H - find in EPG

In the WebIf a search using M?A?S?H gives the desired result.

    M*A*S*H - find in EPG

Interesting problem! Its on 'Great TV' [LCN=50] and/or 'Great! action' [LCN=42]. Various times, suggest start with 'Great! action' at 6am - 2 episodes each weekday. Repeated at 11:30. Unfortunately all transmissions have the same Series CRID so recording the "series" will pick up a lot of...

Copying HD file from neighbour's Humax

I can understand that false positives are an occasional consequence of trying to prevent viruses etc. On the whole it seems a price worth paying. What puzzles me about this episode is that Bitdefender had allowed me to run an existing copy of stripts.exe without protest until I tried to...

Copying HD file from neighbour's Humax

That's comforting, but puzzling for me. After my exploratory attempt to download stripts.exe (post #16) Bitdefender quarantined the copy I had used for c.3 years and repeated that when I tried to use my back-up copy. Bizarrely a full scan of all drives said the PC was clean but it still...

Copying HD file from neighbour's Humax

I have a compiled Windows version of stripts and use it whenever I want a decrypted file and can't be bothered to wait until the HDR does its auto processing in the wee small hours. It works brilliantly. It requires a copy of cygwin1.dll - just need to have that in the same folder as...

    Problem with NASMount

About a year ago and immediately following an update of the DSM software on my Synology NAS the Humax HDR could no longer access the SMB share. Other were affected and I'm grateful to the forum member I've quoted for finding a solution. NB -> File Settings -> in the above shows on my NAS as ->...

    Auto decrypt stopped working

Occasionally I've been able to delete stalled entries in the queue only after I've disabled auto-processing. If you haven't done that already it may be worth a try.

    Does Aura support NowTV app?

I'm out of my comfort zone here but NowTV says that it is compatible. You may need to install the App. Worth checking out if you haven't already tried. https://help.nowtv.com/article/what-devices-can-i-use-to-watch-now

    How dumb is Britain?

Algebra's full of this sort bias. Total 'x' fixation.

    How dumb is Britain?

Totally agree, 1st term algebra stuff, age about 12 I would have said. I expect the syllabus covers things we didn't do in our day but there's no escaping the fact that this is EASY.

HDR - bizarre sequence of errors

I've returned the HDR to 'normal' duties - scheduled recordings with a nightly wake-up reminder window for auto processing. Touch wood, all seems fine, so the mysteries remain. It will be well-used over the holiday so fingers crossed. Thanks again for helpful pointers. This forum is amazing.
