I intended to post an update here but have been slow to get around to it as it involves admitting to some sloppy reasoning and complacency. I have described the “test” I carried out using our only near neighbour’s old Sony. I gave up at that point. At Xmas however we went over to them for a...
Update. My neighbour's "spare" TV was a Sony not a Samsung. Not sure how old, but it had no HDMI connections - had to dig out a Scart cable.
I first confirmed nothing was changed with the T2 I chose and the connected LG TV. Picture was unwatchable on T2, but fine on LG whether aerial was...
That would certainly be consistent with what I'm experiencing. My neighbour has an old, small, Samsung TV he no longer uses. I'll borrow it this weekend and connect that instead of one of the LGs and see how that works.
I have 2 HDR Fox T2s (used to have 3, but one has gone to a better place). Each is linked to a different LG TV. The TVs use the aerial out on the T2s for their aerial in. I live in a rural area with problematic Freeview reception. Over the last few weeks we have had lots of picture break up...
Took delivery of new LG TV over the weekend. Connected the HDR Fox T2 this morning and great picture, but no sound. Was about to check all the settings, connections and cables (which woukd have been a bit of a pain as there is a lot of connected equipment in a Media Cabinet with the added...
Thanks. The Diag webshell interface proved really straightforward and fixdisk is running now. I now see the proess is also decribed in BH's "Steps for Repairing a Disk of Unknown Faults". I will also follow up on the Homebrew suggestions. I used it once to reinstall of iTunes when Apple removed...
I haven't run fixdisk for over 2 years. Sloppy I know. I'm not aware of any problems - but of course that is the problem in a way. Anyway, I'm now on macOS Catalina 10.15.7 and I find Telnet has gone and I can't yet discover a way of getting it back. Has anyone in a similar position been able to...
I get this regularly on my 3TB T2. The drive is about 95% full though (yes I know I'll never watch most of it) and I have assumed that this is the cause and learned to live with it.
We have occasional problems with such nests. Screwfix sell a wasp nest foam that can be very effective if you can access the entrance. This can be difficult if the nest is in the eaves. It is not advisable to block the entrance in an active nest. Wasps will find ways out - even chewing through...
Thanks. That is a very interesting and informative link. I decided to try "Sharing Recordings by SMB** Server". While doing so, and before getting very far, I found that, incidentally, Unit 1 was again available as a Networked Media source on both my TV and Humax Unit 2. I wonder if this is...
Update. I could get an occasional flash of a light on both the Humax ethernet port and the ethernet switch port by jiggling the cable, but nothing constant. I opened the box to start the swapping process and noticed that the module that contains the ethernet port and rear USB port was slightly...
Yes - thanks I have that info now as provided by BH in post 2. I just think it strange that its not included in"the master thread for discussing HDD replacement."
I have now had time to read thread to which BH referred in his last post. It states that "it is nominated as the master thread for discussing HDD replacement". I may be missing something, but I can't seem to see an explanation of how to identify and change the encryption key. The thread also...
I expected no less derision from you and am not offended. A more careful reading of my response would surely have revealed so. I am confident you will be able to direct people to future references.
Thanks again.
