Hi I've searched around and couldn't see any answers, but on my last two PVRs (Digital Stream and Toppy) you could switch off the constant recording of live TV - partly to stop wear on the HD, but mainly because the HD on my device is so annoying- sounds like conkers in a tin, a bit like HDs...
