When my Foxsat finally gives up (had it since day one) what's the best alternative. Not up with this tech anymore so would be interested to know what you guys would buy now.

I had the same problem after the Euro's finished. The foxsat was getting confused what region it should record. I was told to delete all the channels I didn't need (BBC 1 Scotland BBC1 Wales etc.) and then reset the recording schedule to your region in my case BBC1 London. Then the box knows...

Do you know the difference between 1080p and 1080i or more to the point 720p and 1080i. Do you know what the i stands for or what it does. The 1080i picture using the foxat and tv together make the picture on the Samsung a lot sharper than having the foxsat set to 1080i it's as simple as that...

The tv has to upscale it's still using 1920 x 1080 pixels but it makes a better job of it than the Humax set at 1080i

Any HHD won't do it must be AV for video so it can cope with constant streaming. Changed mine just last week as the one I installed four years ago (1TB) started playing up. Thanks for that. I recorded Dr Who in 3D on the red button for my nephew on Sunday and he was absolutely thrilled. I just hope it doesn't mean the end of things like that.
