    Replacement HDD Advice

You might as well get a 2TB drive; that's what I bought when having a similar problem recently. Ebuyer and Scan. If you have a laptop or PC you can use a simple disc caddy to explore your failing hard drive. They are quite cheap and easy to buy.

How do you get that blue highlight and special font on command functions in the above replies?

Changing the encryption key in WebIF

Thanks for the help and advice. I wasn't aware of nugget; I wasn't really aware of the command-line other than I knew it existed but didn't know anything about using it. When I'm home from work tonight I've got some more investigations to do. Thank you.

Thanks, using nugget I can see the key has been changed. The next bit of the puzzle awaits.

Changing the encryption key in WebIF

I have done this before when transplanting an older HDD to a new box. What has led me to need to do it again is maybe another discussion, but I need to change the encryption key on an HDR-FOX T2. I follow WebIF >> Settings >> Advanced Settings and set up a custom encryption key to match the...

Replaced a drive that died - has anyone ever use a data recovery service for the failed drive?

Well some of the services seem to cost around £100 so to recover all my carefully curated clips of TV, including my own appearances, then yes. £1000, no.

Replaced a drive that died - has anyone ever use a data recovery service for the failed drive?

Hello I stupidly ignored warnings from the CF that my drive (Seagate Pipeline 1TB - 2 years old) has some issues (allocation errors?). It then dies - 3 odd clicks on boot. I've installed a new (bigger , Seagate Skyhawk 2TB) drive , all working fine. Was cool about it all thinking I could...

My Humax HDR-Fox T2 packed in

Mine never got that far - it rebooted as soon as it first tried to access the hard drive. It was a different kind of issue. I did have what you described on the old Humax - certain channels or multiplexes caused the box to reboot, restart on the same channel and reboot after 30 seconds e.g...

OR just leave the key the same as the old box, IF on the new box you have no recordings made under the new box's original key.

My Humax HDR-Fox T2 packed in

Yup, came home to Humax rebooting constantly. A brief summary is that through the forums I realized that would boot fine if HDD removed. Work fine after that. Tried new HDD, still same issues. Tried connecting HDD after the box had booted and that worked. Doing that allowed me to export and...

My Humax HDR-Fox T2 packed in

An update; the new box has been running fine since all the shenanigans. You may recall I mentioned a buggered PC. I used a PC and a drive caddy to move recordings around. I installed software to handle Ext2/3 drives in Windows. h t t p s: // sourceforge.net/projects/ext2fsd Left to do an...

My Humax HDR-Fox T2 packed in

In the shed it goes. Now I only have a dead WIn 10 PC to contend with; a PC that probably got jiggered when doing Humax work. Not sure how. Thanks all for help.
