fixdisk - inode has illegal block(s)

Thanks so much for your responses! Intially, I checked the drive on my linux machine, then installed it in the Humax and formatted it using the on-screen menu. Then re-installed webif and started copying using the on-screen menus. Interestingly, when I tried to format the drive again through...

fixdisk - inode has illegal block(s)

Hello, I've searched the forum but not found anything similar, so sorry if this has been covered before. I just bought a second-hand drive to upgrade my HDR-FOX T2 to 2TB. I formatted it, ran a fixdisk with no errors. I started copying over programmes from the old 500GB drive (maybe 80GBs...

    Slow response on playback

Reallocated sector count: 0 Power on hours: 6866 I assume that means I'm doing alright. I've seen a lot higher power on hours while browsing the forum. And I just noticed that your post I mentioned above said 2013 reallocated sectors. Not sure my 1 is as dramatic as I first thought.

    Slow response on playback

Thanks @MartinLiddle and @Black Hole . It was indeed a hard drive problem. 'Pending sector count' and 'offline sector count' were both showing 1 in the SMART data. Watching live TV is fine and the box responds as normal, but when I try and play a recording, there is an approximately 30 second delay before it starts playing during which time the box doesn't respond to...

    Signal strength jump

Thanks for your help in diagnosing. I think bodgery sounds very plausible! Fortunately, I have a wall to mount a new aerial, so I think I'll try and find an installer and get my own aerial :). @MikeSh, the issue has worsened and as of yesterday is also affecting the TV reception, so I guess...

    Signal strength jump

Hello. Long time listener, first time caller. Thanks to the forum for all the answers I've found the last few years and big fan of the customised firmware. My HDR-FOX T2 has been fine over the last 6 years. I'm connected to a communal aerial somewhere along my row of houses which I still...
