What To Do with a Dead or Unwanted HDR-FOX, HD-FOX, or DTR-T1000/1010

GIVING AWAY MY HDR FOX T2 - you just pay for the postage. I had a HDR FOX T2 that has had custom firmware on it. I say had because it went POP. I took the lid off (not for the first time) and saw that the fuse on the powerboard had blown. The charring around the fuse was a clue. I...

New disk claims to be 98% empty, but really isn't

Excellent: someone with a bit of experience. Thanks Black Hole! To be honest, when we move stuff over to external HDD hard drive we move in small batches. I guess I'm just being a bit eager. The FTP from the HUMAX worked in one batch without any problems. But that's going to a Windows PC...

New disk claims to be 98% empty, but really isn't

TLDR: Old HDD backed up via FTP. New HDD wont recover back over FTP. Note: Due to lack of space over the last couple of years - we don't record in HD only SD. Long version: I backed up my 500GB factory installed HDD using FTP (FileZilla) overnight. ~80-% full. I then installed 2TB HDD...

External portable HDD to use with a Humax HDR-FOX T2 - Can you help!?

Mine is a Seagate GoFlex 2Tb external. I offload films onto it about twice a week and watch them from the external drive when I have time. It's got about 1.1Gb free on it. The only problem that I can possibly mention is that it goes into low power mode when it's not in use and take an extra 5...

External portable HDD to use with a Humax HDR-FOX T2 - Can you help!?

I've got a 2TB external HD. I use my internal HDD to record the shows then watch them. If there is something that I want to keep or if I haven't time to watch I move to the external HDD and watch later. I did record an few nature shows (life in freezer sort of stuff) which I waited until...

External portable HDD to use with a Humax HDR-FOX T2 - Can you help!?

I followed this thread and bought 2Tb Seagate drive from Maplins on Monday night for £89. They have a no returns policy, but I thought I'd risk it. Downloaded a copy of Gparted live ISO. Booted my laptop and formatted the drive to EXT3. After about an hour plugged into my Humax. Works a treat...

When I try to access media server Humax reboots Fox HDR t2

Oh dear. Got home with a fresh XBMC CD in my pocket. Went through the menus and set media sharing on. Turned to my laptop and powered up XBMC live, Before I loaded up XBMC the Humax rebooted. Then with Humax rebooting I turned off XBMC and the Humax rebooted again, Hmmm,,,, I have a vanilla...

When I try to access media server Humax reboots Fox HDR t2

Brilliant answer there. I have bootable XBMX CD around and I'll give it a try. I imagined that I'd just start up VLC, point it a thte IP and get a list of recordings to play.

When I try to access media server Humax reboots Fox HDR t2

It has never worked. The function becamse available when the last update happened, but it has always rebooted. It's not a major problem, but it's something I'd like to see.

When I try to access media server Humax reboots Fox HDR t2

Using Window Media player of VLC - access the IP address 192.168.1.2 - reboot. I can use FTP to see the content, but when I try the media server function = reboot Humax.
