I read somewhere on this forum that the System Flash Update resets the DRM. I will run it first anyway - it cannot do any harm - and try the hidden service menu if it does not work. I will then install the custom firmware that I have done on my other HDRs.
OK, so I have found this System Flush Update file under Supporting Files here that, as far as I understand, will not only install the original firmware (as I did previously) but will also flush everything out including resetting the DRM. Is that right?
I don't know how these connections work, but there are several contacts inside the socket. If one is for the 'handshake' then, if that is checked just after the others have connected, the signal will be cut off at that point. Pure speculation on my part, of course!
OK, it is going back. I could have accepted a partial return and tried fixing it. There is some scratching around the hdmi socket suggesting a replacement socket could have worked, but it is not worth it.
I have just bought my second secondhand HDR Fox T2 from ebay, and this one shows a permanent green screen on hdmi. On the hdmi input, when switching on, a hd screen appears for a second or so before going green. The scart connection is fine.
My original HDR and the first ebay purchase are...
I have been processing all of my .hmt files via FileZilla, regardless of whether HD or SD. Using Foxy on SD seems to have no harmful effects (is that right?). This makes it quick and easy - all the .hmt files can be drag-and-dropped from FileZilla to Foxy and then ftp'd back to the Humax...
Thanks Black Hole - that works (well, Splash Lite does). Strangely, it disables the volume control on my Lenovo T410s laptop, so I have to set it high before running and use Splash Lite's volume control.
Thanks for this. However, I have a problem with the sound. I am using the latest version of VLC on Windows XP. When I play an HD file, I get a short sound - maybe a second or so - and then no sound at all for the rest of the video. Any ideas?
