Yes but i have been using my humax as a filestore (500MB) that i am now moving elsewhere, i may reconnect the existing drive to the external usb port to transfer my media to the new drive if it works ok.
Just off this subject... i just purchased a 3TB drive for my humax and upgraded the firmware to 3.10 intending to replace the internal drive A quick read of the forums indicate this is possible using the disk utilities, has anyone wrote a procedure for this yet. If so can you direct me to it...
Thanks again Guys for your much appreciated help. I now understand what you mean Ezra the DEC tag is on the web interface (i was looking at the file on the TV screen). I loaded the Sysmon and ran it through Telnet and have attached the file, I hope you can confirm all is well for me xyz321.
thanks Ezra, I thought that recordings were decripted when ftp'd as long as they were std format. I have only transfered one hd file and that was with custom firmware installed.

I ran fix-disk and my telnet screen was full of inode cleared information "too many illegal blocks in inode, clear inode? yes". This went on for a long time and I could only capture the last screens to file (attached here). I then ran the fix-disk utility again this morning...
