    FVP 4000T & DLNA server

I have been communicating with Humax about the issue - they've spent a lot of time asking the same questions. I've reset the device - but no success. I've noticed when using a DLNA client - it shows the file types - All file types are MPEG except for a few on BBC1 which are listed as "Unknown"...

    FVP 4000T & DLNA server

Thanks - that would certainly fit with the problem. I've copied the files across via ftp to a linux server - will try handbrake and ffmpeg and see what I can do with them.

    FVP 4000T & DLNA server

I've recorded a couple of more programmes and have got some to work. It seems everything on BBC1 wont play through DLNA. I've checked and they dont show up as HD. It very odd. Does BBC use a different codec or something?

    FVP 4000T & DLNA server

Thanks. All the media was recorded on the Humax and mostly its standard def. I've tried MediaHouse and its not able to browse the humax which is odd since it can browse my other dlna server. Does it seem likely the Humax is faulty. I've tried restarting the DLNA server on the humax just in...

    FVP 4000T & DLNA server

I'm trying to use the DLNA server on the FVP-4000T but not having much success. I can see the Humax DLNA server from all my devices (Android, ipad and PC) but haven't been able to play much. All programs just say "Can't play video" Am I doing something wrong ? Are there some settings I'm...

    Customised HDF file released

There's been some comments about reverse-engineering being illegal, which isn't strictly the case. It depends on what form of reverse engineering is done and how its done. In the European Union, reverse engineering is allowed under Article 6 of the European Software Directive, for...

    Customised HDF file released

af123, This is very impressive and I'm not easily impressed. ;-) You say the only visible difference is the ftp server change. Could you tell us what the other changes are ? I'm guessing you've installed the package installer ? Have you recompiled the packages yourself ? What other packages...

    FOX T2 Hacking?

You're not editing the data stored in the tables with the remote control. The remote control interacts with the humax program that's running. The question is "when does the humax program read the database ?". Obviously it does this on boot up. Its possible it never reads its again, since when...

    FOX T2 Hacking?

Kyrt, As far as I understand reverse engineering is allowed (otherwise Wine project would be illegal). However, you're now allowed reverse-engineering by looking at the code. However, would table structures constitute "code" - I don't think so but might be a grey area. The problem with...

    FOX T2 Hacking?

Thanks - I won't bother with that. Thats what I understand from the translation. Absolutely agree - the statement doesn't make any sense. And so what it script-kiddies code things. I suspect either he has an ulterior motive or he just likes to watch us grovel ? I don't - but that's his...

    FOX T2 Hacking?

Any luck finding a german speaker to translate it ? I see they use the PR-HD1000 Heaven tool. Have you had a look at it ? I've read a poor translation of Section 4 , which mentions the RSA keys and the signature heders. Section 4.2 "Assembling HDFs2 shows a screen shot which suggests that the...

    FOX T2 Hacking?

You're probably right... linux often logs boot messages to the serial port.

    FOX T2 Hacking?

There's a line in the inittab file to start up a getty presumably on the serial port - but its commented out. So I wouldn't expect much success - but give it ago.

    FOX T2 Hacking?

Ah I see. I can understand them not wanting to release a user designed mod.

    FOX T2 Hacking?

So, as long as I only query the table formats/contents then its legitimate reverse-engineering. Is that right ? I've still got to work out how to create the hdr/squashfs files so I can get ssh/telnet up and running. Then can look this. I expect a lot of problems along the way.
