    Windows 10!!

Pioneers are the ones you pass lying dead in the desert with arrows in their backs. I'm waiting at least six months.

Updated packages, now screen is screwed up - edit: it's sorted itself out....

I logged into the remote scheduling package tonight and got a message that I should update the package on the Hummy. Went to the Hummy, got a strange message when I tried to update just the remote scheduling package. So I downloaded the latest package list and upgraded them all. Now I have...

    Email Disaster

Still having intermittent email problems. This might have something to do with it: Yahoo Mail outage: Downtime blamed on undersea cable cutting "Sky and BT customers were also affected, as both use Yahoo to provide email services to their users."

BT is still using Yahoo servers for email. Log into BT webmail via a browser and note the url.

    Email Disaster

If you're still using BT Yahoo, there have been sporadic problems with email today. I've been having problems with their server not recognising my login. A quick google tells me it's been a common issue today. https://downdetector.co.uk/problems/yahoo-mail

    Email Disaster

Well, it's coming up to 6 months now and BT still haven't migrated from yahoo mail to their own system. Not surprised one bit - BT really are hopeless. Still waiting for the migration and the inevitable almighty balls-up.

    Recommendations for a NAS...

Good point. That's why I like the Raid 5 feature of my D-Link DNS-320. I've had the unit for six months now and I'm currently running it with one 2TB drive. I intend to fit a second 2TB drive in a couple of months and run them in Raid 5 configuration. (I also have my data - about 1.5TB of movies...

    Recommendations for a NAS...

I am very happy with my D-Link DNS320. Very quiet in operation, very simple to set up with a straightforward web interface. I have never needed to adjust the default settings which send it to sleep after 5 minutes of inactivity. Wakes within a couple of seconds on demand - certainly fast...

    Watching recordings over a network.

Yes, that works for both SD and HD recordings. Having the Custom Firmware installed and enabling autodecrypt, and auto-unprotect for HD recordings, is the key. HD recordings take a little longer to load.

    disk usage questions

Wouldn't be without my 2TB NAS. Anything I want to keep gets copied off my Humax over the LAN, topped and tailed and adverts removed using VideoRedo, compressed with Handbrake and stored on my NAS (plus backed up to two other USB drives). And when that's full (in 2 years at current rate) I'll...
