Well the 300 does have one macro button - the watch TV button. Maybe you can alter that?

if I could suggest a 'feature' - how about taking 5 seconds off the bookmark position at the end of ads (so bookmarks 3,5,7,9,etc.) then you'd know if any of the prog was missed due to a miscalculation. [not sure if this is possible]

Just had this issue while watching E4 - never happened before (only had the box since August and always run custom firmware). Turns out I had disconnected the network to connect to one on my Raspberry Pi's. Plugged network back in and all is good again. Hope this helps.
