    HDD + WebIf query

Ah. Bit complicated that. No technical issues and I did assign the Humax a static IP address. However until very recently the box was very rarely networked. I think what happened was the DHCP lease (on the router) expired and the Humax's IP was assigned to another device. So, next time I...

    HDD + WebIf query

Clicking the button did nothing: Initial browser page: (clicking acknowledge depresses the button but nothing happens) However... your reply indicated that it should work and reminded me that the box recently changed it's IP address... and I'd forgotten to allow the new IP on NoScript... D'Oh...

    HDD + WebIf query

Hi, I have a query regarding my Humax HDR-FOX T2. Here's a grab of the versions etc.: Web interface version: 1.4.9 Custom firmware version: 3.13 (build 4028) Humax Version: 1.03.12 (kernel HDR_CFW_3.13) Loader Version: a7.33 Some time ago I fitted a 2TB hdd and this is now...

    Probably stupid hdd question

I don't have an external caddy or whatever to allow the internal disk to connect via USB and I was hoping to avoid buying one 'cos I'm stingy :-) Also, most of this has gone away. Just took the box out of standby to resume disk repair but it went into setup wizard, asking about languages etc...

    Probably stupid hdd question

Hi, I'm having problems with my T2's hdd (click here to view). Looking around I've read articles about replacing the hdd but nothing about adding a second hdd? Can the HDR Fox T2 accommodate more than one physical drive? If so, what I had thought to do was to install a new hdd then mount old...

Maintenance mode rewrites hundreds of bad sectors

    After over an hour badblocks completed: humax# badblocks -b 512 -s /dev/sda Checking for bad blocks (read-only test): 0.00% done, 0:00 elapsed. (0/0/0 err done Also, tried "smartctl -l selftest /dev/sda" but got: humax# smartctl -l selftest /dev/sda smartctl 6.4 2015-06-04 r4109...

Maintenance mode rewrites hundreds of bad sectors

Sorry, wasn't clear. When the long disk check starts there's a countdown that starts (for my box anyway) at over 13000. It isn't until this gets down to 859 (was 863) that the sector repairs start appearing. Would the version of linux be significant? I do have an old linux box lying around...

Maintenance mode rewrites hundreds of bad sectors

Update: Unfortunately although these sector repairs (re-writes) always appear to succeed, there doesn't seem to be any way to determine how many remain. I'm looking for a way to speed things up. Sadly, fixdisk with "-B -y" didn't make a great deal of difference. The time maths are what worry...

Thanks for your patience ... errr ... how d I do that? --help assumes rather more knowledge about where stuff is than I possess. Sorry to be dim!
