Cheers BH. Guess the box is usually just stripping it at record time.
If it's of any value, my results for the WM transmitter - it's very definitely not just Beeb One or BBC South any more:
Running: d126
BBC TWO|The Tempest|2016-03-26 00:15:00
BBC ONE W Mid|The Princess and the Frog|2016-03-26...
Well no, I didn't make it, it was automatically created by the custom firmware on installation, and has all the magic Split, Join, TSR and Copy folders in it. If you look at them in the webif or via the box's own interface they have normal names, but over Samba they've got some strange...
fwiw i'm going to see if it reappears when i reboot, and maybe see how quickly i can get the CF reinstalled, seeing as something i was actively recording has just finished, but i'm not that confident as it's been quite a long time since i touched any of that stuff
Long story short, I slipped up whilst shuffling some files around by hand via the WebIF, and I accidentally deleted the "[edit]" folder, which I mainly find useful for correcting other mistakes and slips by grabbing the previous timeshift buffer (...hence the manual shuffling).
Is there any way...
If it's of any use, I think this is also happening in the Midlands (I have literal line of sight on the Sutton Coldfield transmitter), but as I have auto-unprotect turned on it's hard to be entirely sure because I've only seen it happen a couple times, generally after the box has crashed (an...
Heh, it's there on the main website as well. Neat.
(or in other words, hahahaha I'm watching live CBeebies at my work desk and no-one can stop me :p ... well, except for chronic bandwidth shortage making it break up and skip like crazy...)
Cripes, £90?!
Better made, and thus generally slightly more expensive leads do tend to perform a little better than cheap nasty ones (thicker cabling, more consistent, better made connectors that offer less inductance/resistance/capacitance and thus can transmit higher frequency signals with...
What I mean is, it's got a rake of particular faults that would take a while searching for, but there's no particular browseable "troubleshooting" list, and no section of that type in the TE thread, other than the scattered bits relating to auto-delete loops and other singular problems. IE like...
All I got on the results list, no matter what option I picked from the menu, was a single video, with no actual AV data, and a description that says Youtube has upgraded to a new version that does not support the device. Obvs whatever version of the YT app I'm getting (through this...
^ this is actually another question I was going to ask later on ... is it relatively simple, if I have a large external HDD connected to an old laptop (basically operating as a NAS with Windows and a DVDRW...), to share a folder on that disc and have the Humax sweep into it? Right now I'm doing...
The "things you should know" section is more like a quick start guide, to put it in simple terms... is there any single troubleshooting resource on the forum or do we have to rely on just asking questions? :)
FWIW, I'm considering a second box, and there's a couple of cheapish ones on eBay, but...
Ah... well, I just deleted and reinstalled before seeing that suggestion. It *seems* to have worked, though I'm not sure if absolutely 100%. The main interface comes up OK, iPlayer seems to work, as do a couple of the other services, although Youtube is now dead (and I guess, given the message...
I've also been offered £4000 on a 79" 4K touchscreen, or £6000 for an 84" one, via a professional supplier. Exceedingly tempted, both for the pro purposes and in terms of potentially maxing out my credit card. They're becoming competitive with projection interactive whiteboards, without any of...
