Strange event today.
Recorded Antiques Roadshow but it didn't stop at end but continued to end of Inside the Factory - two hours instead of one but I didn't have to manually stop the recording
Yes, There is the possibility that a fault in the CF code could lead to a continual crash-reboot cycle that would be difficult to break.
This has yet to happen in more than 10 years, if errors were introduced they would be likely to be detected in Beta testing. So for most people it is safe...
Working nicely.
If you want to create weekly and/or monthly backups you could add the following (or similar) to crontabs using the file editor off the Diag menu
0 21 * * 1 /mod/webif/html/sched/backup/backup.jim Weekly >>/mod/tmp/schedbkup.log
0 22 12 * * /mod/webif/html/sched/backup/backup.jim...
Given that something has gone wrong on the disk that has both corrupted settings and forced the setup wizard it might be wise to run fix-disk to check for any other problems
I think a lot results from accidents of history! I think if the package hook in mechanism had been invented on day 1 the base webif package would be a lot smaller and each of the subcomponents would have been developed as separate sub-packages
There was a time when the setting panel was a...
Possibly not if your aerial and cable are in good condition, the signal strength information on the webif diag pages is a snapshot taken at last retuning so not current - there is a way of getting live signal strength but I cant remember how at the moment
Several people have reported one tuner...
I am not the auhor, @af123 wrote most of it, he is no longer actively developing it, but it has always been a collabrative effort, before any updates were actually incorporated into the distributed webif they would need to be approved by @prpr amd/or @/df but they don't bite (too hard). The...
Manual backups never expire - My oldest is dated 2015! so just create a manual backup every few days or before significant events that you might want to restore to.
Practically old backups are of little use - I am too lazy to clean up the list!
If required it should be possible to automate...
That log shows a successful removal of one 4min ad break starting 4:05 into the recording, but the length of the programme as reported by the detection software was 22 seconds different from the actual recorded programme length (can be caused by a poor signal and noise in the recording) so the...
The chaseget log show it retried processing at 13:29 (detectads puts an entry on to the auto processing queue in case there is a failure) and this time did return data.
Could you post the auto.log for 13:29 onwards!
The libsndfile error is worrying - it is failing at the very beginning
Could you also post chaseget.log for the period
You could try a force reinstall (on the webif diag page) of libsndfile and chaseget packages
Does it work if you record a programme from a mainstream channel (ITV1, Channel 4/5)
The reason the Fan package is not working is that sometime in the past your Humax crashed, You should have had an alert message that some packages had been disabled. Fan is one of the packages that was disabled!
You can prevent this happening in the future (but you will still receive the...
I have a hdHomeRun box that allows me to watch live TV on my PC and also record. https://shopuk.silicondust.com/shop/product-category/hardware/ but they only have Terrestial TV rather than sattelite boxes, Similarly I don think there is a Satelite version of the Humax Aura.
Vbox do have an...
Running with cropping turned off so I could see position of ad breaks I see a fairly normal three ad breaks in a 60 minute program on EarthxTV
I haven't checked the accuracy of the bookmark points yet.
Telnet not required.
On the Humax Webif Settings web page,
What options do you currently have specified for DetectAds?
Options that aren't available via the specific settings fields can be specified in Other options and will apply to al DetectAds runs
You can all specify options for a...
DetectAds works by detecting the periods of silence between ads, it can be fooled by short ad breaks or very long commercials such as the charity appeals that are often shown during the afternoon, also by silences between scenes in the programme. Some times there can be significant differences...
But if they've screwed up once there is no guarantee that they won't do so again in the future!
Does the Aura allow control by home assistants (Alexa et al)?
If it did there might be the possibility of simulating remote schedule and injecting recordings in to the schedule
Updated package attached and repository created on git,
I have also created a Pull request for webif to fix the system inuse function - though it might be better to add the flag to /mod/webif/lib/bin/lsof so that it covers more lsof uses.
I have not include the shellcheck suggestions because...
If you have a customised firmware installed the version will be displayed on the Orange front display when you first turn the Humax.
You will also be able to access the web interface (or be prompted to install it) by putting the boxes network address (shown on the Humax settings menus) into a...
