I read this thread with interest and decided to try it out.
I decrypted a SD and a HD recording and set a bookmark in each but I am not getting the option to Set Thumbnail.
I also don't get a thumbnail in the media details.
Either I am doing something wrong (very likely!), or is it because I'm...
You are absolutely right.
The one good thing about my sat receiver is that because the hdmi is always active, even when it switches on to do a timed recording the switch doesn't see a change and so doesn't select it. My dvd player is the same.
As long as the Humaxes continue to have this...
mihaid,
No, I have a Kinivo 501BN 5-port autoswitch with remote control. I just programmed the av button on my multi-remote to be "input step" for each of the three receiver modes and "input select" for the tv mode. All my current kit including a dvd player is hdmi so the tv pretty well stays on...
I have the same problem with two hummys and a sat receiver which maintains an active hdmi output in standby.
I programmed the av button on my multi-remote to step the switch inputs and have got used to doing it.
It's not ideal but is more convenient than the manual switch.....well, it saves me...
As suggested by Ezra, I turned on Debug log and (predictably?) redring has not faulted since then, so it seems Ezra is right about forcing redring to pick up the settings again, but what causes the failing in the first place, I wonder?
I have just had another problem.
I was playing a recording that was in progress. The REC icon was on and the red ring.
When the recording stopped there was no change on the display.
I switched to standby and again no change.
I then switched on and this time the ring went blue but the REC icon...
A perfectly good theory Ezra, but I'm afraid I haven't upgraded the firmware or redring version. However, in a previous post I asked about redring settings reverting to default values so it does seem that that redring can sometimes "forget" its settings.
Ok then.
Well, I'm on 1.02.29 and CF2.12 but it was the same before I put it on. I can't be certain but I think it was also the same with earlier versions and no CF.
Can one of the "older" members comment?
Yes, within the epg itself. Even when there is no title displayed because the space is too short the record icon is still shown. Obviously if the space is very short no info is shown at all.
Can anyone else confirm, or otherwise?
Not sure if this is relevant but - twice recently my HDR-Fox T2 has displayed red when not recording whilst powered on. Both times only briefly I think.
