  Thanks very much. I've not yet been able to extract the T2 from the huge pile of inter-wired stuff behind the telly; I will need to dismantle a few other things to do that, but that's the plan, and then I can test it on a long extension from a mains socket in another room, and a bit further...

  I use a Harmony with mine and it works perfectly, since the Humax still responds correctly to on/off in half-awake state, i.e. it's as though it's still asleep, so the Harmony state model is still correct. I don't use DetectAds, so that may be the issue.

  I'm on Sandy Heath too; in Cambridge, and we needed a new aerial some years back, to get all the muxes. Can't remember if it was high-gain, wide-band, or both. Presumably the latter, given my signal strengths are similar for all muxes,
