To bring this back on topic... :)
I'm one of the users with regular HDMI issues - it will work fine for a few months, then become extremely unreliable. Moving to another HDMI socket fixes the problem for a few months, then it returns. I have just tried a reset of the "cookie and DRM data" but...
Have you tried plugging the Humax into a different HDMI port on your TV? My Samsung TV kept regularly failing the HDCP handshake, so I moved it from HDMI2 to HDMI1 and it then worked perfectly. (Or at least it did for a couple of months, after which it started playing up again, so I moved to...
In this case you pick one version of the programme, but then at some time prior to the recording taking place the system notices that a programme with a matching P-CRID is listed in the EPG at an earlier time, and dutifully tracks it. ("Reply" function isn't working for some reason)
Well, that...
Early hours repeats tend to be with signing
Often so, yes - but not in this case.
If the series CRID is the same for the repeat, the Humax has no way to distinguish between the programmes. Series schedules only look at the series CRID and record any programme which turns up with that CRID, as...
In case it helps, this was the email I got at 8.16 Thursday morning from RS:
Conflicts have been detected in your recording schedule on humax.
The following events conflict:
106 BBC FOUR HD Thu 08/05/14 21:00 - 22:00: The First Georgians: The German Kings...
103 ITV HD Thu...
OK, thanks.
The program in question was "Blurred Lines: the new battles of the sexes" on BBC2. The first showing was at 21.30 on Thursday 9th, but I am 95% sure I actually set the repeat at 23.35 on Monday 12th. I did the setting on Wednesday evening and then there was a scheduled reboot at 5.30...
Well, yes, certainly if the series / CRID data is wrong then the 'Fox won't be able to correctly reschedule a clashing recording.
My question is why, having specifically asked RS to record something on Monday, it (either RS or the 'Fox) decided to instead schedule it for the previous Thursday...
I've been having some strange things going on when using Remote Scheduling to set recordings of programs that are on several times over a few days. I'm not sure if it's an RS thing, a native Series Link think, or just my imagination...
When a program is on several times over the course of a...
The Humax did specifically report them as "Drive 1", "Drive 2" and "Drive 3" under the "USB" heading. But you're right, they're clearly not 3 actual physical drives but rather 3 "sections" of a single physical drive - which in Windows-speak are "drives" but in Unix-speak are "partitions" (yes?)
OK, all done now, here's some feedback for the benefit of others.
The 2TB drive (Seagate Pipeline, as previously recommended) formatted no problems using CF 2.20 ("Humax Version: 1.03.06" according to the Web-If). Took about 5 minutes and then reported 1803 Gb "available", 20 Gb "used" and 197...
OK, thanks everybody, I'll be giving it a go this weekend and will let you know how I get on.
One last question: is there any easy way to back up things like package settings, recording settings, etc? I presume all these are stored in files somewhere on the hard disk, but I don't know where...
My first "Grade A" unit initially appeared to work fine, but regularly lost its signal once it had been powered up for about 30 minutes. (I presume it had been returned as faulty, but had passed their quality checks so was resold.) Drove me mad to begin with because I assumed I was doing...
I wonder if there is any issue with the Humax drive having multiple partitions? Does a USB-to-SATA adapter typically "see" all the partitions (as different drive letters, presumably)? Can the Humax cope with reading data from an external disk with multiple partitions?
OK, usual apologies if this has been covered elsewhere before...
I've just bought a new 2TB drive as an upgrade to the 500Gb in my HDR-Fox T2. I'm wondering how best to do the update and preserve my recordings.
It seems from some other threads (which I can't locate right now :) ) that the...
Unfortunately not - I archived the whole series off to my NAS soon after it finished. I believe it recorded OK, but perhaps the fact that it's not on the box is the problem.
The odd thing (to me) is the fact that it keeps informing me every day, not just once.
