Hi,
I would appreciate any advice out there if there are any other ways to fix my HDR FOX T2. It has been great for me and I hate the idea of not having it around. I'm just not seeing any good replacement options out there but fear it is end of the line. Feels devastating right now.

Happy to say I've solved this. For anyone running into this the answer is in the thread below and in brief is to queue your decrypts and not run them manually via opt+.

Additional information. I have just found a similar sized file (6-6.5GB) and tried to decrypt that. That has also failed. Does decryption have issues on larger files?
Hi.
For the first time in years I have need to copy a recording off my HDR Fox T2 for use on other devices. Its an HD broadcast file but auto-unprotect has always always removed the Enc flag for me. Today at first I simply downloaded the file (via opt+ from web-if) and it wouldn't play and then...
Just a quick thank you note to prpr (and anyone else) for Tunefix and sorting it and Tunefix update to get out of the complications causes by the renaming of the Mux. As soon as I've found time to look into why I have an issue with missing channels (on COM7) I find the fix is known.
Successssssss!!!!!
Indeed it was corrupt recordings and as always with these things bloody obvious in the end. Thanks very much all for advising.
For info if you're interested and for anyone else who ends up here:
Monday I was at work and then out all evening. I set the Humax to copy over...
Thanks. Onto other ideas then. I'm going to run fix-disk even though this disk is new, just to see if it clears it. The old disk was stuck in a delete loop when I pulled it, I dont see why that should effect files copied onto the new but it's something to try. If that does nothing I'll keep...
So I've worked out how to directly enter at a command prompt which was nice and simple. I wasn't sure but copied that code exactly as typed by Mymsman and got nothing back, just back to the command prompt. I then tried the lsof -Fns on its own and got a very long report. Was I supposed to enter...
Thanks. I take your point which is reassuring.
I'd already thought about that kind of method too, especially as these have been restored from backup already, but wondered if there was a more cultured way. I'll probably delete folder by folder until I find an answer and if nothing clears it I'll...
Thanks BH. I'd actually already looked at a thread based on that. It was clear earlier the unit was staying half-awake and failing to reach standby. There is no obvious reason from the set up. Could it be a fault with the new HDD? Is it likely I'd be able to copy over a file from the old HDD...
Sorry to have to ask another question. I'm still in process of copying across the old vid files to the new HDD - as you know this takes time. I just went to review to recordings on web-if to discover I needed to reinstall so did that. The problem I have then run into is the new HDD didn't fully...
Thanks BH. I think that answers it. I don't know that I can connect the old HDD without replacing it physically but I'll see if the cables can swap over and make it easier.
Thanks for the reply. I'll see what is available in lost and found and copy as desired.
I'm lost with the rest of that I'm afraid. Where do you even find the coding that controls fix-disk? If I try and follow that approach would that be as guaranteed as dropping the old HDD back in the box?
Hi again,
So despite best intentions life took over and I've only just replaced the HDD today. I'm copying files off the old HDD as we speak. I've got two final questions please.
Firstly on the original HDD, now externally mounted, there are some vid files in "lost and found" directory. Can...
