After forcing the hub to channel 6 I was able to connect ok, but I'd prefer to revert to smart mode on the hub.

Ah! Have just webif installed at the moment. Is crashdig likely to tell me anything useful in the event of further freezes/auto-restarts, do you know?
Update: Checking available packages this is actually crashdiag, of course. While it's meant to capture diagnostic files from crashing...
First freeze/auto-restart since running fixdisk five days previously - two recordings in progress when tried to select a third channel to watch; happened after the can't-change-channel warning appeared. Similar circumstances as on Tue 14 Nov.

I think so. Certainly unplugging the Lan connection brings the Humax's WiFi settings to life. But again, scanning for networks only finds a few. Tried entering network name (of the form "BTHub6-ABCD") manually, setting security to WPA2-PSK (Smart Hub calls it just "WPA2") and entering...
Still with the Lan connected I tried the new WiFi dongle, but a scan via the Web IF found just four WiFi networks (2.4GHz) none of which is ours (see pic). The Humax itself had the WiFi settings option greyed-out.
Have now disconnected Lan and will investigate further shortly after one of two...
As a CF newbie, I've been using TP-Link powerline adapters to connect our HDR-Fox T2 to our network for now.

Have learnt a lot today - many thanks for everyone's tutelage (and patience). We'll use the PVR as normal and see how things go over the next week or so. I wonder how many have installed the CF - in the 10s or 100s?

Fix-disk.1 is the run that finished at 09:31 this morning and is 3,100 lines.
Is there an easy way of getting the latter into the same .txt format as I did with the former (attached)?
That worked ok and I've saved the SMART stats, etc as a .txt

I was asked if I'd performed a SMART scan so was wondering how I initiated this explicitly - until I spotted the delay between clicking Disk Diagnostics and the Disk Information table, etc appearing. Hadn't spotted the timestamp.
